Great site. I served aboard from just before Persian Gulf in 87 to Drydock in 91, back and forth from STGSN to STG2 if you know what I mean. So many names I think of often: Manny the Cheese, Rocko, Jeffrey Clare Love, Lee Hagans, Jesse Atwater, Hooper, The Finster, Melvin, Tommy Hart, Marlatt and Coon, Theo, Rat, JP, Mulcahey, Blankie ( eeba deeba doo, deeba deeba doo!) and many more. What was the name of that friggin' GMTSN who wandered around the fantail with a parasol? E-mail me. I now live in Florida (divorced from my Japanese wife) with wife and kid.

I was assistant fire control Officer during commissioning and up until I left in early 1967. Took the lesons learned from Reeves and Apllied them to the USS Albany, CG 10 Commissioning crew, where we proved the use of digital computers for fire control.

I served on the Reeves from Sep 82 to Dec 86 initially as the Material officer and then as MPA. It was my first ship as an LDO officer. I have nothing but great memories of my tour onboard. I retired from the Navy after 30 years.

Served aboard 85-87, Fox Div. under George C Chappell when "Ironmen", Das Cruiser" and Warship Reeves" coined. BEST AND ONLY CRUISER IN TOWN. Reunion 4 July 04 - see Doc Hensley's message. Mostly for Fox Div, but any Reeves sailors welcome. No meetings, no awards, no B.S., just good times and fun. Plenty for family and kids to do around here, too.
