I served on the Reeves from 1991 untill it was decommissioned. When we put her in mothballs I was sure that she would sail again, it is sad to see that they sank her!!! But as a Damage Controlman I can see why with all of the flooding that we got to respond to. Like durring westpac when the counter ballancer in pump room one came off and wen through the inlet side of the #1 fire pump and almost lost us the pump room! She will be missed.

August '76 through late summer '80. Fox Divion, two WestPacs, 1980 Iranian Hostage rescue attempt. Arrived as FTM3, left as FTM1 to Damneck, VA. Medically retired from Charleston, SC in April '86.

RM1/USN/Ret, never served on the Reeves but am looking for Larry Waters a gunnersmate in second division during the 1975-1977 time frame when the ship was in Hawaii. Need to contact him for medical reasons for my step daughter. He is from the Rockford Il. area but have been unable to locate him. Anyone out there have any other information on him for me? I posted another message on 10/18/05 but dont see it now so am reposting this.
