Served aboard her during her precommissioning detail in Bremerton and through the first cruise to Westpac as Assistant Supply Officer responsible for Disbursing, Commissary, and Parts. Left ship about June 1965. Stayed in Reserve 22 years--Retired as Capt 1985.

I was the ship's barber and store opperator in 1970-1972. I was onboard for the recommissioning in Maine.

I am proud to have served nearly three years aboard the Reeves from October 1965 to August 1968. I was on the crew that took her to Yokosuka in May '66 and brought her home to Long Beach in '68. She was a fine ship with an outstanding crew. I don't know if some of the more recent Reeves' sailors know this fact, but in summer 1967 an airman with the helicopter crew we were carrying won the Navy Cross for a dramatic rescue of a downed pilot. Glad to see someone started putting information out on the Reeves. I served onboard from 1971 to April 1973(last WESPAC),worked as ships serviceman. Anyone know the whereabouts of Tony Perales, Terry Fredericks, Dave Banks, Terry Lambert,Art Ladue, or Steve Jarvis. Let me know if you have heard from them.
