My first leisions started when I moved from Ohio to Tennessee in 1975. Now, 25 years later, the leisions are all over my arms and legs. I have seen 3 different dermatologists throughout the years. The first two said this condition was pre-cancerous. The last one said it was not. I have tried liquid nitrogen, Retin-A mixed with something else, DesOwen Cream, and totally avoiding exposure to the sun. Nothing has worked. Does anyone know of clinical trials being conducted on DSAP? I may be interested in participating.

I was diagnosed with DSAP about 8mos ago after seeing several dermatologists. One finally did a biopsy for comformation. I have hundreds of lesions on my legs and arms and I have th itchy version. I understand only about 30% of cases ore itchy. After months of treatment with Retin-A (no results), Aldara ( made it worse), I consulted with a naturalpathic Doctor. My ND did a detoxification, prescribed Beta-Carateen, and a naturalpathic prescription for skin conditions. Since then, I have experienced about a 50-60% decrease in the redness of the lesions and almost no itching. All of the lesions are still present but greatly reduced in intensity. I think that for anyone frustrated enough with standard dermatology prescriptions, a visit to a reputable Naturalpath is worth a try. If anyone has any further questions I would be happy to talk with you further.

I disagree with Carl's take on freezing. I've been freezing DSAP spots for years. It is the ONLY treatment that I have found effective. Everyone's different, but that's what works for me. Enormously grateful to Carl that this site exists. Thank you, Carl!

Was told yesterday by a new Dermatologist that DSAP is nothing more than from the sun... I have M.S. and it seems to be more prevalent when I am in an exacerbation! I therefore, think it def. has something to do w/the immune system. Have been using Differin Gel & Glycolic acid up until yesterday w/minimal results. Yesterday rec'd my first "freezing" Dont know if these will work.

Finally I've got a new guestbook up and running! Sorry. The old one, FreeGuestbooks.com shut down without warning, notice or anything and erased months of messages.
