I have had dsap since I was 33 and i'm 61. I have tried it all, studied it and you are the only one that knows what your body will take. Stay out of the sun and some medications & lotions will just make it worse. I have worked with doctors and studied with them. As of yet there isn't a cure. January and Feb. are the worst months for me. Cold weather. Let me hear from you, I can tell you more. Ann

I AM 28 YEARS OLD AND HAVE HAD THIS FOR THE LAST COUPLE YEARS BUT JUST RECENTLY GOT A NAME TO IT. I JUT STARTED LAC-HYDRIN 12% DURING THE DAY AND SOLARIZED GEL DICLOFENAC SODIUM 3% AT NIGHT. ANYONE HAVE feedback ON THESE PRODUCTS AND TRUTHFULLY DO THE SPOTS JUST GET REDDER AND DARKER BY THE MONTH OR HOW FAST DOES IT TAKE TO DARKEN AND START LOOKING HORRIBLE. I CAN SEE NOW HOW THE PATTERN STARTS. CLEAR ROUGH SPOTS START TURNING RED. SO WHAT HAPPENS FROM THERE ? AND ARE THESE CREAMS GOING TO WORK. DOC SAYS I MAY HAVE TO USE FOR A YEAR BEFORE I SEE A DIFFERENCE BUT CANT AFFORD IT IF ITS NOT GOING TO WORK. ANY FEEDBACK WOULD BE GREAT.

I am a 43 year old woman who has had DSAP since my late teens. I am surprised at how much accurate info you have in your website. I have not found anything that really works but I want to emphasize DO NOT TRUST SUNSCREENS ALONE!!!!! Even when I use some of the high powered 50 or 60 SPF sunscreens every 2 hours my skin got worse. Stay covered. Have had a couple on my face back and chest but hundreds on my arms and legs. One thing I thought held promise was a cream called Skin Answer from Lane Labs. It is supposed to work like Effudex. The first time I used it I got good results but the second time my skin looked like I was allergic to it. It does make your skin peel and get inflamed. It is also fairly expensive. Good Luck everyone.

I ave had DSAP for about 10 years now and so far nothing has worked but liquid nitrogen. My Mother has DSAP also. Recently however, I have had some success with Dovonex. The sample the Dr. gave me was not effective at all. But the Prescription Tube has been. I had a couple of very red, itchy and flaky places and after consistant use, they are not longer flaky or itch. Most of the edges are disappearing on all the leisions. I do notice however, if I do not use the Dovonex twice a day religiously; the scales come start to come back. I have been using this treatment for about a month. I will let you know how I am doing after 4 months.Again, I have seen dramatic improvement. Email me I will be glad to share any info I have.

Hi Carl, I'm glad your site is back up. I was wondering where you went. I have been dealing with my DSAP for about 10 years. I saw my first spots at age 31. I am an avid surfer and work in the sun to boot. Over the last 3 years I have finally had to give in to this skin condition. Long sleeves and long pants in the summer sure bites, but the DSAP is definately calming down. Thank God it's not on my face. I have been using the Dovonex and it seems to be helping a little. My younger brother also has it pretty bad too. My other siblings have spots but not as bad. I'm glad your site is here because I'm already programing my children on sun exposure so they may not ever see this condition. I must admit I was pretty reckless with the sun exposure I put myself through year after year. My dermatoligist was good and right on with a diagnosis. But like you, and just about everyone else, all he could offer was the Dovonex. I guess we will all be praying for a break through. Keep up the good work. Strykmaster Out.
