Thank you Carl for such an insightful websight! I've suffered from this conditon for 12 years, seen at least 12 derms, tried Yag, Erbuim and C02 lazors, liquid nitrogen, salicylic acid and creams. Because of this condition, I moved from a sunny state to a rainy one, and have all the windows in my home tinted with UV protection. Until now, I've never known of any one else with this disorder. I thought I'd share with you a couple things I am trying and let you know how it goes. Olive Leaf extract capsules are known to cure many diseases. AG-Immune capsules, by Body Wise, have sent many cancer patients into remission. Since my DSAP has moved from my calves, up my thighs and now onto my arms, I am using OBAGI on my arms made my Nu-Derm. OBAGI is a program that combines Retinoic-Acid 1%,Hyroquinone 4%, alpha-hydroxy acids, and a Blender thats supposed to carry these products deeper into the skin. It does not cure or prevent the spreading however, it does keep them as light as possible and improve the texture of the spots - enough to where I am wearing short sleeves again. Thanks so much for this websight! I know we will find a cure. If you do find any studies, I am willing to give blood or do what ever it takes.

I have been struggling with this condition, since inheriting it from my Father, some twenty years ago.
I have undergone treatment, tests and biopsy's to no avail.
I am now at the end of my tether!!!
Any words and advice/comfort please?

To the visitors of my DSAP forum: My Alta Vista email ( dudesville@cyberdude.com ) has been shut down for the past 2 months without my knowledge. To anyone who tried to email me regarding this site, I have NOT received your message. I will instead look for a more reliable email.

Help! My DSAP has started to itch terribly. I've had DSAP for 20+ years and this is the first time it has itched.
Other than Desowen, Benadryl and Oatmeal baths, any suggestions for relief -- permanent or temporary?
Thanks in advance.

I have been using a lotion called Am-Lactin. This has helped "hide" the lesions, and also seems to keep the border smaller. Does in no way get rid of it, but seems to help cosmedically

Global Guestbooks seems to have a policy of erasing messages left after 60 days or if nobody leaves a message for a period of time. If anyone knows of a better guestbook please let me know so that I can move to guestbook. Sorry for the lost messages!

Thank you so much for this site. I've been struggling with DSAP for about 8 years. And the itching is driving me crazy! Liquid nitrogen leaves red spots or no pigment. I was prescribed Efudex topical cream but am afraid to try it. Has anyone tried this? I don't believe a chemical peel will go deep enough to work. And most lasers (CO2) go too deep.
It was suggested that I try an Erbium laser, which may work with minimal scarring, but are hard to find. Has anyone tried this? I need to get rid of the lesions that itch the most.
I'll e-mail more info about my personal experience when I have time.
