Thanks for all the information I have read today ,it as all been very helpful.I have only just been diagnosed has having DSAP and until today didnot know anything much about it. I am 37 years old fair skinned that freckles auburn hair and hazel eyes. I first noticed the lesions 5 years ago but i only had 1 or maybe 2 I ignored them passing them off has nothing, last summer I found myself more concerned they had gradualy got more and more so I visited my G.P who diagnosed them has a fungal infection , i tried creams and tablets with no affect.During the winter months i forgot about them again, but during the onset of the summer months when i wanted to wear skirts with bare legs showing I .focused on these little circles yet again. In the early summer months I would normally use self tan on my legs, but i couldn't use this anymore it made the marks stand out more , so I started to go on sunbeds and that made them look better because the rest of my skin was tanned, but i didnot realise i was causing more and more damage. I went back to my G.P this year and he reffered me to a dermatologist,on my visit she told me straight away dsap "I'll try you with this cream but nothing seems to work" I was totally shell shocked and with no further appointment to see the specialist i felt all alone with this somewhat incurable desease. But now i feel a whole lot different after gaining this inforamation from you which i have printed off and i shall take it to my GP and see if he will prescribe me the new drug (TACROLIMUS)i shall report back to you with the outcome. I was given efudex but i have not yet started the treatment and now i am a little wary about it i shall see my gp first

Carl: I tried some copper peptide lotions from a guy named Loren Pickart. He is selling these creams on the web. See www.skinbio.com. Their company Skin Biology,Inc is out of Bellevue, WA. Anyway I tried their TriReduction Protect and Restore cream with retinol mixed with their TriReduction Glycolic Acid Skin Exfoliation Cream. This combination after three months and a lot of $ later only made the lesions redder. It did not work on me. I am a male 58 years old. The spots are starting to multiply in amount. Even though they go from light pink (Winter) to dark red (Summer) with the sun they don't seem to get any larger. They just look like crap on my forarms. I must have 50 or more on each arm. I would not call myself fair skinned. My skin is average. I tan well in the summer and my tan is more reddish brown in color. My hair is a light brown and eyes are hazel. Would love to be kept informed on any new developments on the cure for DSAP. Your website is great. Tom Stiefel Reston Va 20191

have any of you tried Acadia Skin care advertised on the radio to clear psorisis and other embarrassing skin conditions in days. I can't find it on the net. Phone # 800 575-1314. I have not called but will if none of you respond.

Hi! This is a great little site, Carl. I appreciate the work you've put in here. I am 38, and fair skinned. I have mild DSAP mostly on my forearms, and lower legs. I never thought about it much, until I saw that the marks weren't going away. I love my tan, and also used tanning beds for quite a while, which concerns me now. However, I am pleased to see that this condition is rarely cancerous. Recently I read a book called The Skin Cancer Answer, by Dr. I. William Lane. I see that he also has a web site- www.lanelabs.com ... and a biography of Dr. Lane may be seen here: http://www.natlinkasia.com/cosme/lanecv.shtml I was quite interested in the recent details on skin cancer, presented in this book, and the apparently remarkable affect of glycoalkaloids in topical creme solution. What interested me was, these conditions were much more serious than DSAP (they were actually diagnosed as cancerous). So, it makes sense to me that this would work well on something less, like DSAP. It is also very cost effective (I can get it as low as $38.25 per tube, from Lane Labs). I also see, however, that Dr. Lane is currently embroiled in a battle with the FDA over whether his product can be identified as a cancer treatment: http://www.safetyalerts.com/t/g/lanelabinj.htm ... So I am wondering if anyone is familiar with Dr. Lane and his work, or has even tried this product? I am thinking that, for the price, and the apparent results (I recommend you read the book), this looks pretty promising. Still, I don't want to throw money away... Any input would be appreciated. My email is wayner@sprint.ca. Thanks! Wayne
