I have been diagnosed with DSAP, as of today. I have been given Flourouracil-topical to use on a small area on my leg, in hopes it will work. I am 43 years of age and have been over exposed to sunlight through the years. I love the outdoors. This news is very depressing to me. After reading your web page I am more confused than ever. To your knowledge, has anyone had any success with any treatment or am I doomed to a life indoors?

Very helpful web site. I was diagnosed with this condition over 5 years ago in my mid-30's. Its been very frustrating as I am a long distance runner and now have to consider the sun exposure that runners are subject to. I've been injured for about 11 months and working out indoors and have seen limited improvement in the DSAP on my legs and arms.

Aqua Glycolic? I bet that's just glycolic acid - used to make the skin shed faster, to supposedly smooth wrinkes a little bit. My gut feeling is that this female DSAP patient who's skin cleared up must have had the short term type of DSAP that clears up on it's own anyway. Give it a try and let us know what happens.

Have you heard anything about DSAP help through Aqua Glycolic products?
I saw this "My favorite is Aqua Glycolic we have seen dramatic improvement in patients
with rather marked actitic damage .one woman with extensive DSAP lesions had
dramatic clearing of lesions." on the following website http://dermatology.cdlib.org/rxderm-archives/alpha-hydroxy-acid-lotions

Has anyone heard of or tried Skin Zinc?
I keep hearing it on the radio as a miracle cure for psoriasis. You can order it through the mail with a 30 day money back guarantee. I have not ordered it.

You wonder if a medical/cosmetic cure will be found to cover up the redish/brown discoloration of DSAP. Something like tattoing a lighter color maybe.
