It is now 9 weeks since I was bitten during sleep. I was awoken by the extreme pain to the back of my right thigh and both leg calves. All 3 areas were covered in blisters. By morning the right side had ulcerated (thigh and calf)and since then I feel I have been to hell and back. Both calf bites have healed ok, but I had a satelite outbreak on my elbow. Because of the location of the remaining wound, it is extremely painful to drive my car, sit on a chair to have dinner, sit on a toilet seat or to make love with my beautiful husband. However, the bigger problem now is that it is not just the remaining bite site. I have now had a headache continually for 4 weeks, only altered by its severity. I have taken some prescribed Codalgin Forte, but that makes me really spin out. All I feel able to do is cry or sleep. It is too difficult to function normally. I have no energy past getting out of bed, and that is on a good day! I feel so sorry for my husband having to put up with this. I am so grateful to have found Helen. I have passed on her information to my doctor, and he is willing to try her advice. Thank heavens!
WE CAN OVERCOME THIS

Hi, having a lot of white tailed spiders around an hearing horror stories of major infections and repetative infections lalsting for years, I did somereserch and came up with a treatment that sounds mad untill you realise that the substance is an anti biotic and anti viral and fungacide.
It ahas worked according to others very well with no infectionor swelling folowing the bites.
Ok hold on here it is ___ apply ear wax to the bite as soon as possible!
I will certainly use it as a first line of defence if I need to,
no harm being possible , but a lot of potential good.
These very toxic beasties are a menace and there is definatly a block on knowlege of this fact

Hello Helen,
You dont' know me, I am a victim of a white tailed spider bite in 1996, but unfortunately I was not as lucky as you as my leg was amputated, I recently saw your name/story on a tv program here in Tassie, so I thought I would come and see your site. I'm just happy to know that I wasn't the only one out there to be bitten, I've spent many years as a recluse since 96 and its good to know that there is a support group out there.
Keep up the good work,
Kindest regards Rosa Scaf

Hello Helen
Just thought I'd let you know that I am recovering from a spider bite (at least we think it was - I was bitten in bed and nothing was found)obtained 6 weeks ago. Received a skin graft 2 weeks ago and am praying that the wound, which is healing so well, will cause no further trouble. Who says white tailed spiders don't give nasty bits, eh? Regards - Jill Johnson - Beaumaris
