After reading your information. There is a possiblity were related. Gershom, and his wife Mary Plotner Plotts Settle in Ohio in the early 1800's. Gershom was married 3 time, and had 10 childern. Only 8 were living at the time of 1834. His chidren are as follow. Hiram, Washington, Andrew-J, John, William-L, Ira, Oliver, and Moses. I am a descendant of Ira Plotts. Ira Plotts also married a Morehart. Mary J. Morehart. Daughter of George Morehart. Ira, and his wife had 10 children. Where Ira, and Mary live where acouple more families of Morehart's. John, and Washington. I beleave they came from Westmoreland County, Penn. Gershom Plotts would be my Great,Great,Great,Great,Grandfather. Can anyone out there give me any info on a Jason Straub, professional dressage and performance rider, from Kissimmee, FL? I saw him ride last weekend in IL and would like to contact him. He showed a national champion Andalusian and my eight year old daughter wants to join his fan club! Honestly, we're not crazy. It would just make my daughter's day to be able to email him. I have additional info on Wesley B. WOOD (no "S" at end), and wife Hester (PLOTTS), if you are interested. I have a copy of their divorce paper, as well as his death date and place. I also have a picture of him taken 1June 1902, at the S. & S. Home (Soldiers and Sailors), at Bath, Steuben Co., NY. It had been presented to Etta MILLER (was Etta BILLINGS), and he said he was her uncle. (please be sure to add a period between my first two e-mail names!!)

nancy! it's your niece kathy--i was just snooping around looking into MY family tree when i stumbled on this-how great! you did all the straub family stuff for me!!! now i know why i couldn't find anything for grandma shanks--her name was holmes? and i just found out a few days ago about evelyn underwood's original maiden name of dehetre... drop me a line some time-i'm still living in santa rosa...
