I stumbled onto your story of the Mallet murders by accident and I must say after I began to read, I could not stop. I was amazed at the way things were wrote up in the papers back then. I was really shocked when they made Mr. Straub view the body. They should do that now and maybe people would not murder people, knowing that they would have to face that. Interesting read, Thank you

I was just doing some googling and I found that I am in your genealogy! I have information to fill in some "unknowns" and updated lineage. I was only ever aware of my grandfathers side of the family but this delves into my grandmother's side as well and it's fascinating!

I came to your website looking for descendants of Katherine A. Balch. I am working on the descendants of Stephan Balch, my great-great grandfather. He is the father of Philander Balch, Katherine's grandfather. I am looking to complete my grandfather's/mother's work. Any additional information is greatly appreciated.

Hi, Nancy ... I sent an email continaing the data below to stockpony@aol.com - and it came back as not currently in use. So ...... I hope it is OK for me to post this here in your guest book. Hope you will read it. Today is September 1, 2006. This is my email:
I was led to your Family Tree website by Diana, who posted on the Ancestry.com STRAUB board, in response to my posting, in which I said:
"I have an original studio photograph of “Frank Straub and wife”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family
members. Photo was taken in about 1920-1930s, and they look to be in their
40s.
I found a Frank B. Straub, age 29 in the 1910 census of Jackson Co., MI. This may, or may not, be the same man as in
the photo. Other family contacts are the “Thimm Straub family of Three Oaks, MI",
which included members of the Elmon Starr family,
Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to Frank Straub."
I wonder if you are connected at all with the "Thimm Straub family, of Three Oaks, MI" - with a connection to the
Starr family (see the Ancestry.com board).
If you would be interested in the photo I have of Frank Straub, or of the Starr family, I would be glad to hear from
you further.
