My last name is Zanders (by narriage, my understanding is that that the s was added decades ago. My daughter is Hannah Zanders (13).

I stumbled across this page by accident and was delighted to learn that Jack Zander of Pound Ridge is still with us. I knew Jack through riding motorcycles on Sunday mornings from a Dam in New Canaan, CT. It was the late 1970s into the late 1980s and Jack and his friends, people like Dick Sanderson and his son, and many others whose faces I recall but names I've forgotten, welcomed me into their little riding group. We would take an hour ride throught he beautiful little backroads of Fairfield and Westchester counties, and end up in Danbury for breakfast. Jack was a gentleman through and through and I looked up to him. I recall he was to ride his motorcycle cross country at age 81 and meet up with his son who would be flying a small plane. His son couldn't make it, so Jack went by himself. I said then and say now, that I hope to have half the moxie that Jack did att hat age. I don't know if he will remember Bob - the tall kid on the sportbike, but please give him my best. Bob (emoto1 at gmail dot com)

My 2 year-old son's name is Zander, I found the name in a book written about 50 years ago. We've since discovered it's becoming a more popular name. I didn't even know it was a surname! We will bookmark your page for my son when he is able to read! Thanks.
