I have a friend in Kent (79 years young)who claims to be the oldest (only??) surviving member. He was enrolled as a child, and still has his membership card and a few bits and pieces.
Mike.

We are opening (soon, we hope) The Royal Oak Pub in Elk Grove, CA.
Elk Grove is a booming suburb of Sacramento.
I've enjoyed you site. Is there any problem with using the AOFB icon?

The main Charity disappeared in the late 20s though I am a trustee of a charity that was also formed by Sir Alfed and Lady Fripp (my Grandfather and Omther) in the late 20s. Some of the original funds came from the AOFB. Our charity is called tha "Ancient Order of Froth Blowers Girl Guidces and Boy Scout Charity".
The objects of the Trust are broadly to help children and more specifically Girl Guides and Boy Scouts

I believe I sent you a 140-page book on the subject, 'Of Fripp and Froth Blowers'; a 'warts-and-all' copy but reasonably comprehensive in its scope - if short of information on Bert Temple.

My maiden name was Fripp and my grandfather was Sir Alfred Fripp. I can't contribute much about the AOFB except to say that it is still running as a charity in a small way. Until recently members of the family were trustees

Found this site via a conversation started in an Australian home brewing forum, www.aussiehomebrewer.com.
I have my grandfather's AOFB cufflinks, used to wear them a bit, but never knew the history of the Order.
He was a member at his local (the Red Lion, I think) in Erdington, Birmingham.
Good to see that the memory is kept alive and the regalia is still around.

I have a small silver cigarette case inscribed on the front with AOFB and "Presented to Tornado Mrs D. Western for services rendered from Sir Alfred Fripp. K.C.V.O., C.B." The inside cover is signed "Bert Temple No 0"
Interesting to read about the Froth Blowers. My late father was a publican and could have obtained the case through licensed victualler friends.

refering to the "drinking with the Froth blowers"...The AOFB had provided two cots in Bradford hospital" ie.Bradford Children's Hospital - now closed down. I have the two plaques that were over those two cots. Contact me for a photo.

Dear friends, we already have something or a similar group going (established for the past 5 years) in Australia - while run along corporate lines we have plenty of hearty debate and occassional throwing of chairs - if others are interested in knowing more please leave a message in the guestbook at:
