Received a letter from an old friend a few years back -- but I never wrote back. I recently found the letter again and I am finally going to write him -- his return address was in Villers Bretonneux. Looks like a lovely place. Hope you are well Arnaud!

I was a kid at Brookvale School when the Army Camp was there. I began in 1942 and left in 1948. I distinctly remember the villagers of Brookvale inviting a soldier home for Sunday Lunch. The soldier that came to the Hunt home at 23 Chard Road, Brookvale was Alan Croke. I don't know why I remember the name, but I do. I could find no mention of the Army Camp at Brookvale until I stumbled across your site. My name was Cynthia Goetze (daughter of Merve and Louise Goetze). Louise was the daughter of Albert & Cynthia Hunt. Cynthia Hunt's maiden name was Orchard. They arrived in Brookvale around the turn of the century.
