I served a year as an advisor to 1st ARVN Division; some of the finest soldiers I ever served with during three combat tours with US, Aussie, Korean and NZ troops. If you weren't there with them, your criticism is merely a measure of yourself.

My Uncle Francis Carey was a rat of Tobruk in the 2nd/48th.
They were a highly decorated Battallion.
When I was a kid I would watch the Anzac Day March and we would all be sitting in front of the t.v and there was my Uncle Jack walking proudly in front.
Sadly hes passed away now.
Soon they will all be gone like the world war one diggers but the legends will always live on as the stories are passed on to my children.

I was a driver with 8 Fld Amb & 1st Aust Fld Hosp in 67-68. Have not been in contact with anyone from my unit since returning to Australia. I became a workaholic, but am now TPI & work as a Case officer with the Central Victorian Veterans' Support Centre in Bendigo. Listening to all the other guys talk about reunions & the blokes they served with has made me realise what I have missed over the past 40 years. Would greatly appreciate it if someone would let me know how to go about contacting some of the blokes who were drivers at the same time that I was there. If there is a reunion coming up I would certainly endeavour to attend.
