Hi there Diggerhistory crew..
I found this old bayonet in my back yard. It is very rusted and most of the blade is missing - just the first 4 1/2 inches left. I found the serial S 7 (or
8 7) on the blade..
Is there somewhere in Melbourne where I could give it to? I'm sure
its worth nothing as its blade is mostly missing. I'm sure it would
have been from the 1860 Victorian Volunteers though. I found it here
in Northcote, Melbourne.
Thanks for your time, if you are interested I could send some pics,
Sincerely
tonchi

Thank you for the site. I enjoyed the
USMC. We Texan's are much like the Ausies
in many ways in my opinion. My father was
a combat Marine on Iwo Jima and Occupation
of Japan. There is a link to a web page
dedicated to him on my LinkedIn profile.

Hi, this site is great. I just bought an army hat I found
in a retro store in Sydney, but had no idea what kind it
was. Thanks to your site, I've been able to identify it as
a Colour Sergeant's hat!
