I was stationed at Fort Allen from January 1972 to March 1975 when I was separated from active duty. Fort Allen was the best vacation I've ever had. I enjoyed playing in the softball and basketball leagues. In particular, I enjoyed all the afternoons and evenings in the gymnasium playing basketball with the homies. Does anyone know what happened to Luis Gutierrez, the civilian working in the comcenter while I was there?

I'd like to hear from people who were stationed at Fort Allen when I was.(1977 to summer of 1988.) The base was changed from NAVRADSTA to NAVCOMMSTA Puerto Rico not long before I got there. I was in Section Two at the Commcenter. I actually had a two year tour but called the RM detailer to get it shortened (and I've regretted leaving early ever since.)to 18 months.
I remember names like Gerry Buck, Bob Wills, Bill Sponaugle, Converse Thomas, Ed Dean, Bill Meyer, Hayes Boles, Roosevel Fentress..I could go on and on.
I do have some sad news to report: Those of you who read this who were there at the time will remember John Sweeney. I found out recently that John passed away from cancer back in January. John was a good man and a good friend and I'll miss him.
I'd like to hear from anyone who was stationed at the Fort the same time I was. (Lee Henninger, I know you're out there. You've always responded every time I ask.)

I was stationed at Ft. Allen from May,1970 to December, 1971. I worked in the CommCenter with Section III.My roomies at the time I was at Ft. Allen were Mike Davis, Bill Sheltry, and Bill Mahodil. I missed last year's reunion in San Diego, but I made the reunions in St. Louis and Pensacola. Hopefully I will be able to make the next reunion. I would like to hear from anyone who was stationed at Ft. Allen during the time that I was there, but also I would like to hear from those of you that served at Ft. Allen who now live in Texas.
