Relieved Chaplain Bob Trent as Radio Station Fort Allen Chaplain and was helped by Priests and Sisters from Ponce from 1966-1969. Was host with Command for Archbishop Cardinal Francis Cooke Military Ordinariate and Schady has picture of he, Witzke, and CO, Olson with the Cardinal. We remember fondly how all Ft. Allen became part of our family to welcome 2 mo. old Robert Andrew (Bobby)into our family. You had a Baby Shower at the O Club which started him and us well. Pool parties with Don Blanchard as trick diver and orphans from Ponce. We have been parent sponsors for Coast Guard Academy Cadets for 8 years. I celebrated my 50th Reunion (USNA-class of 1957) last year. I'm 76, still playing tennis and all sports including fishing. Marianne knits, reads and is involved in church activities (choir and treasurer of Ladies Benevolent Society). Glad to hear from any. Ft. Allen a great duty station - always remembered and been to two reunions. Blessings to all. Sam and Marianne

I was at Ft. Allen from 70-73 loved every minute of it, especially the chow and mid-rats. I was friends with the night baker, can't recall his name but we used to get in after a night in Ponce. Anyone remember Ensign Rodney Painter? He coached our softball team 'The Freak Brothers'

Any chance we could see some picture posted of the Nashville reunion? Nashville is only 3 hours from where I live in Kentucky and it drove me crazy that I couldn't be there.
I'd really like to see some pictures. Surely someone took a few.

I was hoping to hear from those of you that attended the reunion in Nashville this past Labor Day weekend. I was hoping to be there, but due to circumstances not under my control, I could not attend. Where and when will the next reunion take place? I am really hoping to hear from those of you that were stationed at Ft. Allen in 1970 thru 1971.

Stationed at Fort Allen Dec 1969 thru Mar 1973. Worked at the galley under Chief William "Big Bill" Hamilton. Although many years have passed, I will always remember the times at Fort Allen.
