I was stationed at the Receiver Site near Salinus from Dec. 64 till June 66. Best job I ever had! Hardest part was keeping Sam the calf fed. Loved tinkering in the ET Shack with Craig and taking the Dodge Power Wagon up the hill to the microwave tower. Friends (I can remember) were Russ Holbrook, from Rising Sun, MD and Charles Townsend, from Baltimore, MD. I remember most of the guys in Al's pix.
I guess the '04 reunion never happened.
My old post disappeared. Great site! Thanks Al!

I was stationed at Ft Allen 1969 - 1971. Was a CWO3 at the time. Worked with Tape Relay and as CAMS officer. Good shipmates Mel Purvis, Gary Greksouk, T.O. Meeler, Frank Phillips, CDR Olson, Roland Savage, Matt Golinski, Troy Johnson and many others. My favorite shore duty station of all time. Loved the golf course and the bowling alley. Great place to raise kids. Wonderful times at the O club.

Hello to all.....I was stationed @ Ft. Allen from July '74 to July '75. Just happened to find this website today. I constantly think about not only Ft. Allen but living in Chicago, just about Puerto Rico in general. Oh yah, about 80-85 degrees everyday. Anyway a few names that I remember --Frank Reyes, Ray Randall, Casey Bredemus, Maude, Steve Hammond, Steve Grabowski, Renee Merneck, Al Haskins, Squeegie, --I'm sure I can come up with more. I'm just excited about not only this website but there is actually a reunion. Would love to visit. For those that were there, what a place!! I'll never forget it.

I would like to hear from anyone who was stationed with me at the Fort from late December 1976 to Summer of 1978, but specifically these people: Ed Dean, Bill Meyer, Bill Sponagle, Gerry Buck, Bob Wills, Hayes (Dick) Boles, Jeannette Woodard-Dean, Ed Dean, Jan Ellis, Deb Sadoris, Dan Deshazo, Frank Hoover, John and Deb Sweeney. If you are one of these people or know their whereabouts, feel free to give them my e-mail address. You/they all knew me as "Radar", RM3 Ewen, to name a couple.

I was stationed at Ft. Allen from late 1968 to late 1970. I worked at the reciever site at Salinas. Dominicci and Greksouk were the division officers durjing my tour. I remember Art Tackman; Gary Woods; George Langenbrunner (sp); Tom Kilkourse; Ken Jagger; Ken Votry; Ralph Norris; Ken Doughtery; Lowell Garvin (the nub); Tommy Lee; John Kauffman; Stanley Colton;Paul Banks; Ron Healey; Toney Edel; Emilio Garcia(civtec). All these didn't work at Rcvrs. (forgive the spelling).
I was really surprised and pleased to find this site. It sure brings back a lot of memories. I Just retired after 32+ years as a central office technician with GTE/Frontier communications. It's really great seeing the names of some old shipmates and friends. God bless you all and I wish you all the best.
