It's been almost a year now that you left this world for a better place Sheldon. You lived your "21" years on this earth for what you dreamed of doing and set your goal and that was going into the USA ARMY. You are not a fallen warrior you are a true soldier of war a "TRUE LAKOTA SIOUX WARRIOR". You gotten up off the ground that day and stood up proud because you were much proud and represented your tribe the "Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe" of South Dakota and represented your family as well. "Wankan Tanka" and "Tunka Sila" said that day "It was time to go home when the wind began to blow" to enter spirit world the day he called you home. You are now in "PEACE" and in heaven, that I know with your mom and dad and other family members. My heart goes out to you as I know you are doing good in the spirit world looking down at everyone who prayed for you. To your family the "STRIKES ENEMY" and "HAWK EAGLES" you stood strong and to Sister Frankie thank you for being as strong as you can be today. This was written after the service held at Ft Cambell,KY. As you know I still keep your family in my prayers. Why I make my way through the crowd to find a seat. Looking at the seventeen wreaths in front of the stage, I just can’t believe they are gone. I look around at the heavy hearts and sad eyes. As they play “American Soldier” I watch pictures roll across the large screen. I am struck with how many lives are affected by this loss. They don’t just show them in uniform, but in life. One with his mom, another with his wife and son, and more with friends and family. Tears surround me as we all try to comfort one another. Soldiers everywhere with more pain in their eyes than they will ever express. Looking as though they carry the weight of the world on their shoulders, but standing strong and tall as if they can carry it. You pray for everyone here and those still in Iraq to have the peace they need. There are times in life when the questions don’t have answers. This is one of those times. At times like this, you just have to believe that God is in control and He does have the answers Copyright 2003
