i cant believe i found this web site of Sheldon my friend told me about it recently she was also in iraq my name is Joseph Zermeno im 22 from Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe Nevada i went to school with Sheldon i first met him back in August of 1996 at United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck ND i moved up there with my mom he was one of first friends i met up there i remember he lived with his aunt Barbara i hadnt seen Sheldon in years last time i seen him was in August of 1998 i know he had moved back to Eagle Butte i moved back to nevada in 2000 i always wanted to get a hold of him i never knew he was in the service i remember that day he passed my mom was watching Good Morning America they had a segment about native people in war they had showed his funeral my mom woke me up and told me about it i had missed the segment after that i couldnt believe it i was shocked Sheldon was a cool guy i remember we would play basketball we were just little guys then i think of him from time to time he died a warrior a true warrior rest in peace brother yours trues Joe

I am proud so very proud of Sheldon he soars amongst the Eagles. A hero who will live on in all he came in contact with. He touched many lives in 21 years. He touched mine and I didn't even know him until I read this site.

I was lead here by a link on Yahoo ID for a Lakota Lady. I must say I was totally brought to tears over the passing of a special Warrior. I wept hard for him and his family and his Nation. I am 1/8 Cherokee Native myself. Any Waaior death I read or hear about I weep!
