I stand and salute the fallen warrior. I stand and bow in honor to the brave Lakota people.
I served in the Corps and later in the Navy. I lost family and friends in my war and have three sons in the navy today. My Grandmother was Cherokee I have seen the affliction of the people.
The young brave had a hard life. May the valor of his name be sung for generations.

My heart goes out to the friends and family of this Brave Young Man. He will be remembered by many. He will be in my prayers this evening. I never met him, but I know the feeling of losing parents (both)and 2 brothers. Fairwell.

Oh, Great Spirit,
whose voice I hear in the winds
and whose breath gives life to all the world, hear me.
I am small and weak.
I need your strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes
ever behold the red and purple sunset.
Make my hands respect the things you have made
and my ears sharp to hear your voice.
Make me wise so that I may understand
the things you have taught my people.
Let me learn the lessons you have hidden
in every leaf and rock.
I seek strength, not to be superior to my brother,
but to fight my greatest enemy - myself.
Make me always ready to come to you
with clean hands and straight eyes,
so when life fades, as the fading sunset,
my spirit will come to you
without shame.
Native American - Lakota - Chief Yellow Lark
