Dear John:
You have created a SUPER website for building the Warner L. Lawrence, Fireboat #2. This website will encouage others to build their own Fireboat #2. On April 12, 2003 I was fortunate enough to have attended the retirement of the 78 year old Los Angeles Fireboat #2, the Ralph J. Scott. Along with the dedication and start of service, for the new LAFD Fireboat #2, the Warner L. Lawrence. I video taped the new Fireboat #2 in action before they backed it into the "Barn." It's amazing to watch the boat go as fast in reverse and lateral as it can go forward! Those Voith Scheider propulsion systems are awsome!! And the SKUM (skuuum) Monitors can really put out the water. Then the public was treated to an on board tour. All you could hear was praise for the new Fireboat #2 The Los Angeles taxpayers certainly got value for their money with the Warner L. Lawrence....
Thank you John, for sharing your building of Fireboat#2 with others.

Hi John.
What a great website, congratulations. Just sea trialed a new Engel Typhoon yesterday (took the easy way out) and find your real thing pics very helpful for detail. Best of luck.

Dear John,
Nice to see your project. From 10-28-02 to 03-30-03 I worked on the one-to-one scale of LA Fireboat #2 at Nichols Brothers Boatbuilders of Freeland Wa.
I was in the Electrical department and participated in the installation of the entire electrical plant, controls, the monitor system for the firecontrol system, participated in all phases of the sea and acceptance triles prior to LA county taking delivery of the boat.
Looks like you are doing a very fine job on it.
