Mike, it is funny you said "that guy". That was how we described those actors/actresses. I have a couple of actresses that may qualify. Jennifer Esposito(Dracula 2000), Monica Potter(Along Came A Spider) and Mary Stuart Masterson. But Mary Stuart may be a little dated I can't remember what she has been in last. Now two names came up and were interesting. Julianne Moore. She has been nominated for numerous Oscars but she still brings on the question, "you know that redhead.........". And Asia Argento. She has not done too many U.S. movies, more in Italy and overseas. But her looks illict that question. But if someone has a roaring career overseas can they be a "character" actor here? Finally after his success(and ultimately cast type as Tony Soprano) is James Gandolfini a character actor when it comes to movies? Before the Sopranos, he was definitely "that guy". We wondered about post Sopranos.

Randy, It's tough to draw a distinct line between character actor, "that guy," and star in some cases. Personally, I'd say that Steve Buscemi is a star now, but nobody is going to say that he has conventional leading man looks, so I guess, he'll always be a character actor in some respect. It's tougher to talk about actresses. I'd say that Jane Lynch, from "Role Models" is a "that guy" actress, along with Patricia Clarkson and Toni Collette, whom we mentioned the last time we talked about the subject on the air.

Mike, a few friends and I got onto the topic of "character" actors. Some names like Bob Gunton, Chelcie Ross and Maury Chaykin came up. I don't remember you guys doing show about "character" actors and I wondered what a couple of your favorites are. We, also, had a disagreement about Steve Buscemi. I said he could carry a movie and was a star rather than a "character" actor. What are your thoughts?. Finally, we were hard pressed to think of women character actors, however, they are out there. My nomination was Lili Taylor. If you have some time I would be interested on your views of these. Heck, if anyone posting has any opinions, fire away. Thank you.

The Dallas movie has had as many incarnations and Jason and Freddy combined. At one point, it was supposed to be a vehicle for Jennifer Lopez. I think it would be cool to do the film with a bunch of the hot young things who are on TV now in shows that are aimed at a young audience. But I've also got to wonder if the times are just not right for the conspicuous consumption that powered the original series.

"Diary" is certainly one that can be missed. And George is working on another. Only bummer is poor George has run out of titles. This one is titled, ".........of the Dead." Even Friday the 13th was in outer space. Have you seen anything about a "Dallas" movie? IMDB has Betty Thomas directing but no names, yet. I watched the TV show as a kid and was intrigued by a possible movie.

"Diary of the Dead"? I missed that one and don't plan to catch it any time soon. Seems like there's been a new "Dead" movie every other month or so, and half of those are remakes. I can't keep them straight.

Hi Meg. Otis(Tom Towles) was the "sidekick" to Michael Rooker's character(Henry) in "Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer". For a horror fan that one is a must see. Mike, this "Frozen" I heard people talking about was about three or four people trapped on a ski slope lift. But there was no talk about what made it a "horror" movie. The one you named sounds more like a funny zombie movie. Kind of a "Return of the Living Dead" with it's quips and violence. Either way I am up for a good or bad zombie movie. As long as I don't have to see Romero's latest, "Diary of the Dead", again. I just caught up with it and was kind of disappointed at the approach. A lot of driving students filming their experiences. Not a lot of Romero zombie action.
