I've been in Vegas now for over 4 years. How I miss little Rhody. I have lost 50 lbs. since I've been here. Dying to go back home so I can eat a decent meal. I miss the fresh seafood, the absolute best Italian food anywhere in the country and most of all the down to earth people.

I worked at the Original NY System on Smith Street about 15 years ago for a year. That was a hell of an education! Gus told me how the name came about. When his Grandfather opened the place, he was one of the first "fast food" type joints in the area. He called it the NY System because he had seen the same set up in diners in NYC. He started making gaggers, and everyone called them NY System wieners. Love your website. It made me VERY hungry, and homesick (which, for a Rhode Islander, is usually the same thing)!

Nice website! I just went to rhode island for school vacation I went by a hot weiner restaraunt and I was too afraid of eating it because my teacher said there was hot sauce on it then when I came back to maine he said that they weren't spicy at all I was so mad at myself for not eating one His name is Russ anderson maybe you know of him?
