All I have to say is Wow this is wicked cool. I have been checking this out for over an hour now. I am upset though you did not mention Allies. That is the only coffee joint for a true swamp Yankee! Thanks for the site I loved the small taste of home.

I LOVE this site! I left RI a little over 2 yrs ago to relocate my family to Charlotte, NC. I didn't realize how much I miss the familiarity of the Rhode Island food, accents and culture until I visited this site! I actually came across this site as I have been on a mad search for a recipe for authentic Rhode Island Bakery Pizza Strips. Can anyone help me out...PLEASE!?!?!!?

I asked my parents to get me the RI bracelet and they did and I love it, it goes with everything; Jeans, Dressed & Casual. I recommend it to everyone from RI to be proud of where you come from.

Grew up in 'the bucket', how about Liberty Lunch on Central Av, Leo's Spa on Central Av, Kips on Newport Av (still there), Archies pizza, Mee Hong chinese restaurant near the old Westminster Mall 'down city'. Kelly's hamburgers, going over the line to Jack Witchi's and seeing the Tanaka twins and Andre the giant. I was reading the questionaire and couldn't think of any family member that worked for the state, then I remembered I did for the summer programs! Love the site. I remember my father taking me to see the huge construction equipment they were using to build 95, and my grandfather taking me in to see Schaeffer Stadium while it was being built. Woonsocket, Cranston, Warwick, all were cities that seemed to be as far away as Chicago or something. Stanley burgers are great, but were much better when they used to be open till 2AM. There was a breakfast joint in CF that had a 'ham shore dinner' that was a great breakfast at 2AM too.
I had forgotten about the trips to the RI Philharmonic by school bus. 'Hi neighbor' 'gannsett signs were on every bar I remember. Oh well, gotta go, gotta stop at the packy on the way to the mill outlet.
