Great Site! I grew up in Oakland Beach in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Miss Ikes Variety, the six o'clock whistle from the Oakland Beach Fire Dept., Hanging out on the corner by the old Merry Go Round (Darby Horses) with the crew. Watching the submarine races at the sea wall, walking on the jettys and swimming in the cold water during summer (no charge), waiting for a moon tide to go clamming on the point, Misses Guses Doughboys, etc. etc. Would love to hear from any of the old crew.
