After years of road course racing I'm thinking of pursuing my childhood dream of running in the Baja 1000. I've always liked the VW heritage and thought the 5 1600's might be a good way to go.

I want to fulfill my dream. I've road bikes all my life and now have a XR650R that i'm tricking out for one ride the big one and since i'm 41 now it maybe my last good one. I lived in Nevada for 4yrs while in the military but never could aford to race in the desert always watched though.I'm not rich by any means but i do have the dream and now i've got the bike just trying to put it all together before next year. Any heads up info would be greatly appreciated guys and gals.

Winn' you guys are doing a great job. I took some time off from racing to decide what to do with our racing program. Damn 5/1600s, I just can't sell or trade it (love em). I will be back racing with a newly designed car prbably in October and I am planning to race the last coalition race in December. For those of you thinking about racing this race it is a blast, course is well marked and no booby traps like in SCORE. I miss you all and can't wait to get out racing again. Ron
