Hi guy's some of you know me. I raced the Malcolm Drilling 5/1600 in Score the last 2 years. My partner Jason Lakin and I took this year off. I have been racing with Mike Julson's (Jimco Race Cars) and Bob Lofton's sons in class 10 in the Best In The Desert series (BITD) this year with great sucsess. Jason and I are talking about pulling the 5/1600 out to race next year. We would like to run in the Coalition. I know you guy's like running the CODE and MORE races, but would you consider racing BITD. I talked to Casy Folks and he would love to have the 5/1600 come to his races. I don't know how many of you have raced a BITD race, but I have been very impressed. Casy told me he would only charge the 5/1600 the same entry as the Jeep Speed's $500.00. You could have raced the Vegas to Reno for $500.00 thats $1.00 per mile!! There are so many pluses to racing BITD. Prerunning is on a set date. They have a prerun lunch or dinner for everybody that preruns (free). If you place in a race all drivers and co-riders recive a trophy (4 people). When you register all participants get a gift package. Example The TISCO Vegas to Reno(t-shirt, program, folding chair, coozy cups and BITD starters pin). All the BITD races have designated pit locations. Approx. 50 miles apart. We pitted the Jimco class 10 with 2 chase trucks! The class 1 car had 3 trucks. When you finish you are greeted by Casy and given a finishing pin. Casy also has a T.V package on the OLN network. He also said he would see what could be done to get the 5/1600 some tv time. Casy even told me that if Baja Coaliton was trully interested that he would fly to San Diego to speak to the group. Dont get me wrong I love Baja and Score but Sal would never offer this to us (5/1600). Also somthing to think about! I have great sponsors that are willing to go to Baja with me, but do not get any benifits by me racing down there. I could have have added another 20% to my race budget in the last 2 years, if I would have raced more in the States. I had more sponsors willing to give me money, but they didnt want us in Baja as it didnt help them. As for all the teams who have tried to get sponsors or who have gotten them you know how hard it is. More companies in the States are willing to give the money out if they think they can get a little return back. BITD is the largest off-road series in the States. As is Score to Mexico. Just somthing to think about. If you would like more info on BITD series please e-mail me your phone # and I will call you. Also you can find out more about Nikal Motorsports at www.nikalmotorsports.com Thanks for your time.

Just finished watching the 5/1600s on DR Offroad TV show from last race, awsom coverage. Omar had an in-car camera and the view was great. I don't have a schedule for next year yet, that will be up to you guys. Everybody who has signed up to race for this year will have an opportunity to choose whatever races they want to run for next year. It will remain a four race series with best 3 out of four counting for points. I will probably start sending out ballots after the next MORE coalition race and you guys will be the ones who vote where we race. All you have to do to sign up is E-mail me the drivers of records name or fill out the on-line application. I prefer to collect money at the race during contingency. I will have a booth set up at both contingencies and early morning before race. Thanks Ron Plunkett

How come Brent is racing his car? BAJA Coalition would like to welcome Line X of Imperial Valley, they have donated a 25.00 gift certificate to high and low motorsport shop to be awarded to 2nd car out of money. Who needs directions to contingency on Friday? I am willing to set up a caravan down to contingency on Friday but since I have to set up a booth I will be leaving Calexico at 3:00pm. I am willing to meet anyone that wants to go follow me down on Friday from Calexico. 760-336-0800. The directions to contingency are fairly simple you just follow the signs to San Felipe and I believe at the first statue you make a left and it is right there on the east side of the statue.
