ROBIN GEORGE `Crying Diamonds' Majestic Rock (2006)
www.majesticrock.com
This album did come out as `Rock of Ageists' via Zoom Club but
was as easy to find as rocking horse pooh. It has been revamped
sound wise and features very fetching cover artwork courtesy of
Robin George's wife. There are some notable co-writes on the album
as well including Phil Lynott on the title track and the former
Uriah Heep vocalist David Byron on `Learn the Dance'. This latter
track is one of the album highlights - very similar in sound to
George's classic `Dangerous Music' album, with layered vocals, neat
and precise guitar and catchy chorus. A natural successor to the
immense track `Heartline'. The cover of Lynott's `Kings Call' is
another worthy highlight as too is the closing track `Roulette'. As
you'd expect the production and sound is crystal clear and there are
hooks a plenty!
Overall a very enjoyable release and hopefully now it will get
the full release it deserves. Easily Robin George's best album since
Dangerous Music' and one to delight his fans plus lovers of classy
melodic rock.

Hi Robin.
This is a nice review - rock report is one of Europe's longest standing and most widely respected web sites.
Robin George – Crying Diamonds (Majestic Rock, 01/05/2006)
Robin George is the artist I will always remember from the AOR album “Dangerous Music”, which was released in 1985. After that, he never reached the same level of quality again and after the release of “Bluesongs” in 2004, I had written him off completely. Maybe I should have done that much earlier, because what I have here and now is a completely reborn Robin with a comeback album that sees our man return to what he’s best known for: a solid hard rock album! “Crying Diamonds” is named after a song that George co-wrote with the late Phil Lynott. Other co-writings include opener “Learn The Dance” (with David Byron) and “Haunted” (with Pete Green). Together with a cover of Lynott’s “King’s Call” and ten other (new) songs, “Crying Diamonds” is an album you should really check out. God almighty!
