Hi, and first of all. Thankyou for the
lovely site, it is very helpful, especially for me as I am a new corn
snake owner. I have a beautiful normal
baby corn snake. However there is one
problem that has me a little worried. I
brought my corn very cheap from a couple
that had an accidental breeding (they
thought they had two girls) who got eggs
and didn't want to let them die. I saw
both parents who were very healthy and
good natured snakes. The babies were
also all good looking little corns and
active. (there were 3 out of 21 left at
this point the rest had been sold) My
shock came when I noticed the hatch date
onto of the babies vivi. They had been
having trouble selling the last few and
so my snake is a year old however he is
only 12-14inches long! like I said I am
new at this so at first I thought it was
strange but passed it of as normal for
corn snakes (being slow growers). But
the more I have researched into size/age
comparisons and what they should be I
get more concerned. They were feeding him
on one pinkie a week which I have
continued and now plan to move him up to
small fuzzies. What do you think I
should do to encourage growth? and do
you think encouraging growth is the
right move since he is still healthy?
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
-Rachael and still nameless baby corn.

Thank you very much for all your advice and pictures, me and my boyfriend have just bought our first Carolina Corn snake, Called Nimrod, hes my first snake, my boyfriends third snake.
Hes gorgeous and its been fantastic looking through all your photographs to see how roughly our snake will grow and look, hes very similar to your first pictures of Jethro :)
were just trying to get him to eat his first pinky with us, hes eaten and shed at the pet shop and the staff were fantastic he was just shaken up as we moved him to a separate viv to feed, we have left him with the pinky but are keeping an eye on him!
i cant wait to see him shed and grow!
Thanks again for all your advice! the site is fab!!!
Thanks Amy

I must say, you're website is very informative and Alice and Shaggy are lovely snakes, i keep finding myself looking at their pictures. Im intregued by snakes at the moment, but i still live with my parents, and my dad hates snakes, he never gave me a reason why though. Anywayim thinking a corn snake or two would make ideal pets since i'm starting out, or etleast thinking of it. And where better to start than with a beautiful, small yet docile pet? Im loving the variety of colour and paterns they have, and loving you're site! Keep up the good work!!!
